Introducing Heartfelt Meditations by Michaela S. Cox

Heartfelt Meditations by Michaela S. Cox

Hello I’m Michaela S. Cox and I’m an author. I first was published in February of 2011. My first book is entitled Heartfelt Meditations: A collection of poetry inspired by cherished scriptures. I published through Iuniverse.com and my book can be found through them as well on Amazon.com and BN.com. This book involves a collection of poetry taken form a wide diverse range of topic in scriptures from both the Old and New Testaments and in several different books of the Bible. I started to write this type of material in my high school years and the book progressed through the years.
My journey started in Houston, TX on November 7, 1978. I was originally born totally blind and when I was 7 months old I was granted my sight by the grace of God. Although I remain visually impaired I’m beyond expression or description blessed and thankful for the the gift of my sight. My spiritual journey has its origins in my birth and God’s healing in my life but continued when I was 5 years old and become a christian. and has continued to progress and grow. My journey as a writer started a very young age. I believe I submitted my first editorial in the 2nd grade and wrote my first poem in the 4th grade. I have always wrote as long as I can remember and always wanted, long to and desire to write. I saw a quote one time that There is no vacation for writers because you are either writing and if not you are thinking about writing. That is very good description and summary of me and my life.
After my family moved from Texas to Louisiana in 1988, where I remained until 2007, I attended the remaining of my elementary years, junior and high school years there. I attended Louisiana Tech for my undergraduate where I earned my B.A. in Sociology and doubled minor in English and History. In 2007 I married the love of my life John Cox and we started our life and journey together as husband and wife and we moved to New Hampshire. My husband serves our nation in the Army (National Guard). During our time in New Hampshire I attended Massage Therapy and hope to pass the boards. We have two wonderful, amazing precious babies our daughter, Megan Elise Cox, born August 11, 2010 who is now 6 years old and then also our son Jesse David Cox born on August 7, 2013 who has just turned 3 years old. In 2014 I earned my M.A. in Political Science in American Government from American Public University and in June of 2016 I also earned my graduate certificate in Ancient Classical history. I hope to teach online or at least in the community college arena. In my free time I enjoy time with my family and friends, writing, traveling, music, and scrap booking on shutter fly.com.

Through this blog and in conjunction with my Facebook page Heartfelt Meditations by Michaela S. Cox I hope to use these forums to write on and discuss my passion for writing/writers, my faith (religion/spirituality), politics/government, my journey as a mother (motherhood/parenting) and relationship. I wish to share my thoughts and heartfelt meditations on these subjects. Much of my life such as my faith, my children, my journey as a mother, my experiences relationships and my own personal interest as American in our own nation have been my inspiration a source for my writings I also hope to share my past writings, my published work, current and future works and writings from my heartfelt mediations. Additionally I hope to share the lessons learned by faith and not by sight that I have now come to see through my life’s journey and experiences through this blog and my Facebook page.
